Job Title: Sourcing and Packaging Engineer
Schedule: 7am to 4pm PST (US Time Zone)
Our client is a prominent player in the skincare sector, committed to providing innovative and high-quality products. The position will support component development for a wide range of brands. Responsible for new product development, product maintenance, cost savings and sustainability while working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project launches. Direct communication with Global Packaging Suppliers to verify quality, accuracy, and design across all product brands.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive innovative design and materials for both primary and secondary components
- Maintain project timelines, tasks, and costs to ensure on-time, on-cost launches of new products
- Manage all aspects of component specification development and document administration for packaging materials
- Define specifications, defect ranges, and design criteria to facilitate an optimized process flow with component manufacturers
- Compile samples, quotes, and specifications required for internal testing on both primary and secondary packaging components
- Investigate and lead sustainability efforts on packaging materials across all business segments
- Liaise with production to ensure packaging is optimized for the production environment
- Assist to establish quality standard for new components
- Develop new suppliers to enhance the overall sourcing network.
- Administrative task including PO creation, PPS inspection, oversea shipments arrangement, part number request, etc.
- Other tasks assigned.
- Backup for team members
Requirements
- The ideal candidate is required to have a minimum of 1-2 years’ experience of personal care or cosmetic packaging business, experience with global sourcing.
- The ideal candidate is required to have knowledge and experience of purchasing and costing.
- Certificate in recognized Packaging Program preferred.
