Job Title: Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager

Job Type: Full-Time

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM CST

Compensation: $1,500 - $2,000 (Salary based on assessment)

Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager with experience and/or willingness to learn in various financial services to join our team. This individual will review tax and accounting projects, work directly with the firm’s owner, oversee and manage the tax and bookkeeping team, and handle regular client communication. The ideal candidate will possess proficient English and communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Tax Preparation:

    • Prepare and review tax returns for individuals and businesses.

    • Conduct tax planning and advise clients on strategies to optimize their tax positions.

    • Manage tax resolution cases, communicating with tax authorities on behalf of clients.

  • Bookkeeping & Accounting:

    • Oversee and manage the bookkeeping team to ensure accurate, timely financial records for small business clients.

    • Correspond with clients regarding missing items needed to close the books for the month.

  • Client Communication:

    • Maintain clear, professional, and responsive communication with clients to address inquiries, explain tax processes, and provide updates on their financials.

  • Internal Collaboration and Development:

    • Work closely with the firm’s owner, contributing to client strategies and ongoing projects.

    • Mentor and support the bookkeeping team, fostering a cooperative, team-focused work environment.

    • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning and adaptability, especially during peak tax season when hours will be higher.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Certification: CPA or EA designation is a plus.

  • Experience: Business & personal tax preparation, tax planning, tax resolution, and bookkeeping, ideally within a public accounting firm.

  • Skills:

    • At least 4+ years of relevant experience.

    • Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks or similar) and Microsoft Excel.

    • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly explain complex financial topics to clients.

    • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective time management.

    • Leadership skills with experience managing or mentoring team members.

    • Willingness to work collaboratively and learn continuously.
