Product marketing is what connects the dots between the product and the market both before and after a product launch. The Senior Manager, Product Marketing will be responsible for a.) understanding the market (demand/need), b.) shaping the product vision and go-to-market strategy, and c.) communicating the product or solution to the market. This role is the glue that binds our product strategy to the tactics we need to drive product adoption and solution demand. You will play an integral role in defining the offering, defining market positioning and messaging and organizing launches. You will regularly collaborate with product managers, business line owners, clinical leads, experience designers and occasionally external agencies; it’s a balancing act that requires strong diplomatic skills, including knowing when to push back and when to dive in.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer personas, their decision-making process, and key engagement criteria.
- Monitor competitive activity – both direct and indirect – and adjust, update or refine the value proposition to further differentiate our products and services.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop resonant positioning and messaging, defining value propositions for user and buyer personas.
- Write compelling content and collateral that describes the product’s ability to meet client needs, solve market problems and/or fulfill aspirations.
- Unearth insights into customer needs and market opportunities by actively engaging with market-facing teams, presenting to clients and embedding these insights within product narratives and stories.
- Lead the planning and execution of go-to-market (GTM) strategy and product-focused marketing campaigns, including materials creation (e.g. pitch decks, talk tracks, FAQs, product guides, flyers, etc.), in collaboration with product, clinical, business, and market teams.
- Partner with product managers on quarterly roadmapping activities, planning/shaping strategic customer advisory processes, and enablement processes.
- Support technical writing, release management, and training operations for product documentation and training materials.
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, or healthcare or relevant experience
- Master’s degree, preferred (MHA, MHSA, MBA)
- 5+ years’ experience in a product strategy, product marketing, marketing or product management role with at least 2 years of experience in a market-facing role (e.g., delivering presentations to customers and prospects, conducting competitor analysis and market research), with strong preference for digital health, innovative tech enabled services or SaaS solutions serving the healthcare market
- Strategy consulting or previous product marketing experience preferred
- Experience in working directly with provider organizations, including clinicians, preferred
- Experience with B2B and/or B2C marketing
- Knowledge or background marketing cloud-based and SaaS technologies, especially in healthcare
- Knowledge of healthcare business models, including approaches to value-based reimbursement
- Knowledge of the healthcare ecosystem – the major players, the continuum of care and how it all works together to better inform your market research
- Able to execute commercialization strategies, programs, and tactics for technical products
- Strong creative skills, ability to design and create compelling pitch decks
- Ability to work collaboratively at multiple levels of the organization and across technology, business, and operational teammates and stakeholders
- Outstanding communication; strong written and verbal skills
- Demonstrate initiative, accountability, and problem-solving skills.
