And our QA engineering team’s goal is to deliver an incredible experience for our customers and users, from brands like Burberry to companies like Gorgias and Amazon.
As a new QA engineer focusing on automation, you’ll collaborate closely with engineering teams, providing critical feedback on upcoming features. And help in the creation of new technology and testing practices, alloying Alloy to adapt to changing technology and scale. You’ll ultimately elevate the way that we think about testing and the long term quality of our products.
\n- Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
- Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test plans and test cases. Along with estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating testing activities
- Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
- Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs, and perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
- Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing features, liaising with our engineers and product managers to identify system requirements
- Proactively communicate status and quality risks to the team, tracking and communicating test and quality metrics like defect densities and open defect counts
- Investigate the causes of issues and work with engineers to ensure they’re resolved to original specifications
- Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies. And be an advocate for quality processes to make sure our customers have an incredible experience with our products
- 5 years of experience in software QA, reading code for common errors and mistakes, and working in Agile/Scrum development cycles to pinpoint opportunities for team performance improvement
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies, tools and processes with a drive to automate repetitive tasks
- Experience with both white box and black box testing and using automated testing tools such as Jest, Playwright, Puppeteer
- Experience with end to end testing, UI, smoke, sanity tests, integration/API tests, regression testing; experience with performance and/or security testing is a huge plus
- Exceptional time management as you juggle multiple priorities and need to efficiently prioritize and adapt to changing circumstances
- Excellent communicator, especially while working with a fully remote and distributed team; we love tools like Zoom, Loom, Notion, Jira, and everything in-between
