Your Role as an Accounting Manager:
Appspace’s Accounting team is looking to hire an Accounting Manager that will be an integral part of our growing team reporting into our Assistant Controller. This role will have an immediate impact on our accounts payable, tax, revenue, month-end and overall reconciliation process. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical and able to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
A Day in the Life of an Accounting Manager:
- Take ownership of compliance with US and global tax filing requirements (coordinating with the global 3rd party tax teams for income and sales tax compliance)
- Take ownership of the US and European reporting entities
- Perform monthly accounting close activities, including but not limited to performing GL account flux analyses, preparing and reviewing account reconciliations, and preparing journal entries for payables/receivables, credit cards, reimbursed expenses, accrued expenses, and capitalized/fixed assets
- Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments
- Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks to or across teams as needed to balance workload of all team members
- Oversee and manage Accounts Payable and Corporate Credit Cards
- Own the documentation of Internal processes and procedures
- Identify opportunities to drive efficiencies and process improvements
- Assist team members with issues that arise as a part of the daily accounting tasks
- Assist with external audit. Supporting annual independent audit and regulatory audits as required. Manage cash transfers as necessary
What You’ll Need:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA preferred
- 5+ years of experience of increasing responsibility in accounting positions
- Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Solid understanding of accounting concepts including US GAAP
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience with Netsuite preferred
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented
