Essential Job Duties
As a Senior Data Scientist, you’ll apply current machine learning and AI algorithms to derive data insights and deliver intelligent services. This involves gaining a deeper understanding of relevant customer needs and business domains, exploring and improving available data, selecting appropriate approaches, and constantly improving models.
- Train and tune machine learning models
- Explore data and conduct feature engineering
- Apply natural language processing to understand text and aid in conversational interfaces
- Build optimal algorithms with LLMs and retrieval augmented generation
- Collaborate with data engineers, AI software engineers, data analysts, and stakeholders
- Evaluate emerging techniques by understanding academic papers and new technical tools, and by conducting labs, prototypes, and explorations
- Monitor and optimize production models
What You Need to Get the Job Done
- 5+ years of professional experience as a data scientist, typically coding in Python with relevant libraries
- Demonstrated ability to select and implement ML algorithms, shape data into useful input features, and choose and optimize appropriate model performance metrics
- Proficiency with NLP, text processing, LLMs / generative models, and conversational UX
- Mathematical thinking foundation and orientation
- Skill working with data sources of various types using tools such as SQL, pandas, Spark
- Expertise designing and building deep learning architectures and models
- Ability to work well independently and with colleagues
- Skill collaborating using cloud-based tooling, git, notebook systems, and ML workflows

- Wisely select approaches and evaluation methods
