ABOUT THE TEAM
Technology is at the core of what we do. Basis Technologies' innovative Engineering team designs and develops new features and integrations for Basis, our industry-leading, comprehensive software solution. Our platform processes over 300 billion events per day and uses AI and machine learning to automate and simplify the entire digital campaign process.
This team is all about data—and in order to create value from the massive amount of data we collect, engineering leverages their dynamic Data Engineering, Data Science, and Business Intelligence teams to create insights that benefit the industry as a whole.
WAYS YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE
As a Systems Engineer you will work with developers to help them with the Kubernetes transition by using CI/CD tools, while leveraging best practices. This role will work with developers on a variety of tasks from troubleshooting incidents, to aiding in design decisions for new features and services. We tend to also lead the discussion around monitoring. This position is responsible for systems monitoring, resolving technical issues in production and other environments. This role will also be a consultant for engineering teams providing support to gathering applications metrics, alerting and monitoring. Being comfortable providing input and supplying supporting arguments is a necessary skill to be successful in this position.
\n- Engineering and supporting all of Basis’ systems and infrastructure
- Supporting and maintaining the application life cycle, change and incident management
- Creating automated tasks/workflows to remove repeat work
- Maintaining system and applications deployments for infrastructure supporting millions of transactions per second
- Change and Incidents and Management for Applications life cycle
- Performing systems monitoring and performance tuning to optimize systems performance
- Being available 24x7 for on call emergencies on a rotational basis
- Enabling CI and CD through development of appropriate tools and infrastructure.
- Joining technical discussions, providing insights based upon past experiences and implementing the best solutions.
- Working across application stack to move software to production, as needed.
- Developing self-service solutions to help increase productivity and reduce unnecessary roadblocks
- Experience managing and using Kubernetes in production
- Experience running Docker in production
- Experience with infrastructure management in AWS using terraform.
- Familiarity with the entire development cycle of applications using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Harness.
- Familiarity with Systems Performance and troubleshooting.
- Coding skills in Python or Bash
- Knowledge of infrastructure management and automation systems: Terraform, Salt Stack, Stack Storm
- Harness experience is a plus
- Passion for highly distributed and highly available systems
