What we’re looking for:

Beam is looking for an Analytics Manager to lead a team of analysts in supporting strong business decision making across Sales, Finance, Insurance, and other internal teams. The Analytics Manager will work with leaders across Beam to understand our business challenges and partner on solutions and analyses. At Beam we are looking for doers - so while this role will manage 2 analysts and empower them to deliver their most impactful work, we are also looking for someone who loves to roll their sleeves up and write some SQL as well!

You have a passion for data and love digging in to find insights.  You have experience with Sales, Revenue and Financial Analytics and solid business acumen.  You love leading analysts, helping them to learn and grow in their careers, removing roadblocks in their path, and championing their successes to the organization.  You’re not afraid to sling some SQL and do some of the work yourself in a player/coach fashion. You love the cross functional nature of analytics and view yourself as a partner to your stakeholders - you don’t view yourself as just the referee/scorekeeper.

What you will do:
  • Exemplify a passion for data and possess the ability to transform it into actionable insights
  • Partner with Sales, Revenue, Insurance, and Finance leadership to understand the performance of the business, consult on business challenges, and brainstorm solutions.
  • Display a high level of business acumen and strong communication skills to deliver effectively to all levels of the organization.
  • Mentor analysts on best practices to uplift team knowledge and performance
  • Provide input on work priorities to your team, helping ensure the team’s focus is aligned to the overall organization’s annual strategic objectives
  • Build consensus across teams and help us avoid analysis paralysis
  • Create Flowcharts, visualizations, and structure around business processes to help align stakeholders across various teams and build common understanding with analytics team members


What skills will help you be successful:
  • 5+ years of experience in data analytics
  • Experience leading a team of analytics professionals
  • Experience and aptitude for breaking down complex business problems into defined rule sets and/or process flowcharts that can get all parties involved speaking the same language
  • Experience working with Engineering and Product teams as partner in gathering requirements for new product features
  • Experience writing advanced SQL queries
  • Advanced skills in Excel
  • Experience building data visualizations using BI tools like Looker
  • Exceptional communicator and storyteller with strong client-facing data presentation skills
  • Analytical, rigorous, and creative approach to solving difficult problems
  • Experience with data warehouse and modeling concepts 
  • Experience with DBT is a plusExperience with Git, is a plus
  • Experience working with SaaS data such as Salesforce, Zendesk, etc is a plus
  • Experience using R or Python is a plus
  • Experience with predictive analysis and statistical methods is a plus
  • BA/BS degree in a quantitatively focused discipline; Masters or PhD is a plus
  • Prior experience in the insurance industry is a plus

$115,200 - $184,200 a year
The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position.
