Plasma is a purpose-built blockchain for stablecoin payments. Engineered from the ground up to address the unique needs of stablecoins, Plasma provides a scalable, efficient, and secure foundation for the next generation of money movement. We believe stablecoins can transform global finance and improve financial access worldwide. To reach the next level of adoption, dedicated and purpose-built infrastructure is required.
The Role
We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) in the EMEA region to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of our protocol as we prepare for mainnet. In this role, you will work closely with our core engineers to support our protocol. You’ll serve as the backbone of our operations, designing robust systems, automating processes, and creating a culture of resilience across our platform.
What You Will Do
Architect, implement, and maintain infrastructure to support large-scale Rust-based services and consensus components.
Develop tooling and automated processes for monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
Drive continuous improvements in reliability and performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks in a low-process, fast-paced environment.
Collaborate with developers to guide architectural decisions, ensuring system design meets reliability and scalability goals.
Own end-to-end availability for critical services and features.
Design and implement robust deployment strategies, including CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and infrastructure as code.
Troubleshoot production issues at all layers of the stack, from network and operating system to application code.
Champion a DevOps culture across the team, promoting best practices for collaboration, continuous delivery, and operational excellence.
Who You Are
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in SRE, DevOps, or a related role with a proven track record of designing and operating complex systems.
A solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals.
Proficient in cloud-native tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Terraform, or similar) and modern observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, particularly in identifying race conditions, scaling issues, or hardware/software failures.
Bias for action in a low-process environment – able to drive initiatives independently and propose improvements before issues escalate.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence architecture and design decisions across teams.
A high degree of ownership – comfortable making critical decisions that impact reliability and performance.
Nice to Have
Experience working on consensus algorithms, blockchain protocols, or other high-resilience distributed systems.
Deep familiarity with stablecoins, DeFi, or specific blockchain ecosystems.
Previous experience with performance tuning and optimization in mission-critical environments.
Contributions to open-source DevOps or SRE tooling.
Salary and Benefits
Benefits for full-time employees include an above-market salary, a generous ownership package, comprehensive insurance coverage, and generous paid time off.
