Where in the world? The role is based in Amsterdam, with a hybrid work model.
Working hours? For this role, you will operate within Central European Time (CET)
What language(s) will I speak? Fluency in both English and Dutch is essential
The position of Senior Tax Manager has become available in Amsterdam. Working closely with senior leadership (including our CEO) and cross-functional teams, the primary tasks and responsibilities of the role are general tax support and advice, project management, tax planning, reviewing corporate income tax reporting, managing tax compliance, and reviewing statutory tax reporting.
What you’ll do
Provide high-quality international tax advice and support to the business both at a country and group level and proactively act on international corporate income tax developments;
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with our CEO, Finance, and Legal teams.
Review tax accounting and reporting (IFRS) as part of the group’s quarterly and annual reporting.
Provide internal advice regarding transfer pricing and maintain/monitor the group’s transfer pricing strategy, structure and documentation;
Support the countries with tax audits and tax compliance (local tax returns and compliance is typically outsourced);
Coordinate the group’s tax risk management and tax control process;
Assist in the development and implementation of a group’s tax strategy that best supports the ongoing growth of the business;
Support and manage group-wide VAT compliance;
Review the group’s compliance with indirect taxes, including stamp duty, real estate transfer tax, withholding tax, etc.
Support the head office legal team with tax issues relating to customer and supplier agreements
Provide tax technical support and integration support concerning special projects such as; M&A/divestments, cross-border transactions, joint ventures, group financing, and reorganizations.
Liaise with the country's head office departments, and tax authorities, and manage relationships with external tax advisors.
What you’ll bring
A university degree in Dutch Tax Law or Economics.
Total of 6 to 10 years of combined experience:
3-5 years of experience in tax, ideally from a Big 4 accounting firm or the tax department of a leading Dutch law firm,
additional 3-5 years of tax experience in-house
Strong understanding of both Dutch and international tax law.
In-house experience, particularly regarding tax accounting and reporting across a pan-European or international group, is a significant plus.
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills, with a team player mentality.
Proactive, results-driven, and hands-on with a passion for working in a dynamic, diverse, and international environment.
Being fluent in both English and Dutch is essential.
