Description
Blink Health is looking for a Senior Network Engineer who will be responsible for managing Blink’s routing, switching, VPN, and firewall infrastructure at our office locations and in the cloud.
This position is USA REMOTE but must cover our operation hours in the Pacific Time Zone (9am to 6pm Pacific Time)
What You'll Do:
- Manage, monitor, and maintain Blink’s network infrastructure including - Aruba & Meraki switches/WAP, Palo Alto firewalls/VPN, AWS VPC, and AWS Transit Gateway
- Serve as a technical architect and consultant to other engineering teams by assisting them with network design and troubleshooting in a microservices & container based environment (AWS, Kubernetes)
- Work with IT leadership on projects, identify new products & solutions, and research solutions
- Promote good network design practices by emphasizing Secure & compliant implementations, Redundancy/high availability, and Automation
- Mentor and train service desk technicians to help them provide level 1 support
- Act as the technical escalation point for network issues
- Configure, harden, and patch network devices & services according to security best practices and recommendations
- Monitor security alerts and investigate security incidents
- Maintain technical documentation about the systems you manage
- Communicate with stakeholders by keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of upcoming changes or scheduled downtime
- Participate in on-call support rotation
- Duties will be primarily focused on Network administration while providing backup to the systems engineering colleagues for Windows and Linux server administration.
What You'll Need:
- 5+ years of experience managing on-prem & cloud network environments
- Experience in network design and troubleshooting in a cloud-based microservices environment (AWS, Kubernetes)
- Expert level knowledge of enterprise network protocols & platforms such as IPSec, VPN, DNS, SNMP, OSPF, BGP, AWS VPC, Security Groups, peering, and routing
- Deep understanding of cloud and virtualization technologies and how they impact network performance and design
- Ability to manage an integrated cloud-based (AWS) and physical office-based infrastructure
- Strong understanding of network security requirements & best practices and ability to analyze & respond to security incidents
- Hands on experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools including Wireshark, tcpdump, Fiddler, PRTG, Nagios, NewRelic, Grafana, and nmap
- Mid-level Windows and Linux server administration capabilities
- Experience writing and documenting detailed project proposals
- Experience working with vendors to solve issues, discuss roadmaps, and implement improvements
- Ability to adapt and solve problems in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal & communication skills, and ability to collaborate with others
- Industry certifications a plus (Cisco CCNP, Palo Alto PCNSE/PCNSA, Network+)
