Who You Are:
You're a highly skilled, highly organized event coordinator who loves to help bring order to even the most chaotic events. You thrive in an environment where you can help keep track of the details and make sure things don't fall through the cracks.
You're comfortable negotiating and coordinating with multiple vendors and are fearless in pushing for better opportunities. You have a strong service orientation and make sure to approach each interaction with a sense of customer service and delight.
What You’ll Do:
As our Event Specialist, you'll help manage the logistics, operations, and execution of Blockwork's portfolio of events. You'll work alongside our Sr. Events Director and with the rest of our passionate Events team to help coordinate and support the planning, execution, and follow-up of our events, which range from hackathons to premier institutional conferences. Every day will look a little different, but in general, you will do things like:
Coordinate Event Logistics: You'll be supporting the logistics of our events, including sourcing venues, answering inbound questions, managing vendors, and everything else that comes with running high-end events. We rely heavily on Notion and Google Sheets, and you’re at home with both of these tools regularly.
Provide Attendee Support: You'll be the front door to any inbound questions from our attendees, in addition to helping support any requests like ticket transfers, hotel inquiries or cancelations and refunds. You’ll also manage our attendee graphics process which is at the heart of our grass roots marketing strategy.
Liaison with Stakeholders: Whether it is the beverage vendor or our own creative team, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate cross functionally internally and with loads of different resources outside of the company.
Manage Materials: You'll help coordinate and manage all materials, collateral, and supplies needed to prepare and execute our events.
Event Website & App Operations: You'll manage the public facing website and event app for all of our events, making sure they stay up to-to-date with key information, assist with any enquiries and liaise with engineering team as any problems arise.
Support Marketing Efforts: You'll partner with other members of the events team to help track social performance and proactively report on event goals and engage with our communities (social channels, twitter, discord and more).
Travel: You’ll be expected to travel a few times a year, sometimes to host our events and other times for site visits/venue scouting.
Experimentation is frequent at Blockworks. Comfortability with being uncomfortable is a must.
What You’ve Done Before:
You have some of experience supporting and coordinating high touch, large-scale events. You have demonstrated success in managing multiple time-sensitive priorities, and pride yourself on the sense of calm you can bring to the chaos. You can project manage your way out of anything and love helping others stay on plan. You go out of your way to ensure every level of customer interaction feels human and authentic.
It’d Be Great If You’ve Done This:
Previous experience in supporting events in the crypto, finance, or startup industries will move you to the top of the list. Knowledge or experience within the event tech or events industry is also something that may help you stand out form other candidates. Lastly, if you have experience with crypto audience or designing and implementing processes to help scale event support, we'd love to hear about it.
