Location: Remote in the United States or Canada
The Director of Sales Engineering at BlueVoyant oversees the MSS sales engineering team, with a focus on steering the creation and execution of technical sales tactics to boost business expansion in the cybersecurity field. This position requires active collaboration with both the product development and sales departments to guarantee that the proposed solutions can satisfactorily address client requirements and tackle cybersecurity issues. The Director is tasked with comprehending market needs, technological advancements, and MSSP principles.

Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop the sales engineering team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and excellence in cybersecurity solutions.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans for the sales engineering department to support sales objectives and BlueVoyant's growth.
- Technical Sales Support: Provide expert technical support to the sales team, ensuring that they are equipped to meet the customers' technical cybersecurity requirements.
- Customer Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, understanding their technical needs and business objectives to propose tailored cybersecurity solutions.
- Product Development Collaboration: Work closely with product development teams to relay customer feedback and market trends, influencing cybersecurity product features and roadmaps.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify new sales opportunities and to stay abreast of cybersecurity industry trends and competitor strategies.
- Training and Development: Ensure the sales and sales engineering teams are adequately trained on the technical aspects of cybersecurity products or services, including new product releases or updates.
- Technical Skills: Expected to possess a high level of technical expertise in cybersecurity solutions, network architecture, and threat detection technologies.

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. An MBA or equivalent is preferred.
- Proven experience in a sales engineering role within the cybersecurity industry, with significant leadership experience in managing technical sales teams.
- Strong understanding of the sales process for complex technical products or services, especially in the cybersecurity sector.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical details to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans and to translate them into successful execution.
- Must have a thorough understanding of MDR services including threat intelligence, threat hunting, incident response, and risk management.
- Proficiency in related software and tools, such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems, is crucial.
- Effectively communicate complex technical information to customers and internal teams, as well as strategize and implement effective sales techniques based on technical knowledge.
- Prior experience in engineering or a technical sales role within the cybersecurity industry, and relevant certifications (such as CISSP, CISM, or CEH).
- Proficiency in customer relationship management (CRM) software and sales engineering tools.
