About the Role
We are looking for Coaching Evaluation Specialists who have deep experience in screening and identifying behavioral health needs of youth and coordinating their care across pediatric behavioral health and family social services to support families in California in accessing high quality and cost effective care.
Primary Responsibilities
Assessment Review:
Thoroughly review assessment results gathered during the onboarding process to gain a deep understanding of the unique needs, challenges, and goals of each member seeking coaching and/or care coordination services.
Risk Assessment and Safety Planning:
Conduct scoped risk assessments with caregiver (and child, if needed)to identify level of risk and appropriate care options for their needs, including creating a safety plan for high risk cases and immediate referral to appropriate in-person or emergency services for imminent risk.
Note: Brightline does not provide immediate, 24/7 crisis services.
Provide safety support for all members in Brightline’s care (i.e. receiving services from a coach, therapist, or prescriber).
Complete mandated reports and other documentation to ensure appropriate legal processes and protocols are followed.
Re-evaluate members’ fit for Brightline services (Coaching or Therapy) after a safety event.
Internal and External Referrals and Care Coordination:
Facilitate internal referrals to Coaching or Therapy services ensuring families have a smooth transition to their provider at Brightline.
Coordinate external referrals to partner organizations such as schools, community health services, external therapists, primary care, EAP, and affiliate networks when necessary.
Refer families to relevant community resources, including support groups, local agencies, and other social services (e.g. food, housing, financial assistance) that can significantly enhance their care experience in the event that Brightline services are not appropriate for their current needs.
Care Documentation and Communications:
Ensure accurate and organized record-keeping of assessments, safety plans, referrals, and interactions with families.
Adhere to internal expectations for timely documentation and communication to members and care stakeholders (e.g., receiving coach/therapist, external providers involved in the case, etc.)
Adhere to relevant privacy and compliance standards for all documentation.
Effective caseload management
Proper and timely documentation for all completed sessions
Completion of appropriate workflows and tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must be able to accommodate the following schedule: Monday-Friday 11-7or 12-8p PST schedule.
Minimum of 1 year experience in behavioral health or mental health services as a provider or case manager
2 years (formal or informal) experience working with children, youth or families
You will thrive in your role as Care Guide if you have:
Strong coaching skills— experience with child and family focused CBT, motivational interviewing and SMART goal setting
Proficiency in SI, NSSI, HI, SUD, and ED risk assessments required
Training and experience conducting Safety Planning and Mandated Reporting is strongly preferred
A passion for learning and growth — skilled in providing and receiving feedback that leads to effective collaboration and a stronger team connection

This position is 100% remote. The target range for this position is $43,000 - $67,000. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including certifications, experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.

About Us
Brightline brings virtual behavioral and mental health care to children, teens, and their families, when and where they need it. You have the exciting opportunity to be a critical part in advancing the mission of a new partnership between Brightline and Children and Youth Behavioral Initiative (CYBHI). Established as part of the Budget Act of 2021, the CYBHI is a $4.7B five-year package of investments that seeks to reimagine behavioral health care for California’s youth. The goal is to provide free services that promote social and emotional well-being, prevent behavioral health challenges, and provide equitable, appropriate, timely, and accessible behavioral health care to children and youth. Brightline was selected from a group of 450+ vendors to provide the Behavioral Health Virtual Services Platform (BHVS) for children under 13 as one of the CYBHI workstreams .
