Job Description

We are currently looking for a Technical Delivery Lead (TDL) to join our growing team. This is a key technical leadership position. You will be responsible for driving the successful delivery of software solutions for address management, qualification, fiber build, and network operations. You will act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring seamless integration of software components. You will also tackle complex challenges and delivers high-quality solutions to meet the evolving needs of Brightspeed's telecommunications business.

 As a Technical Delivery Lead, your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Lead Technical Execution: Provide technical guidance and leadership to the development team, ensuring efficient implementation of solutions tailored to address management, qualification, fiber build, and network operations
  • Facilitate Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment between developers, network engineers, product owners, and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment and effective communication throughout the software development lifecycle
  • Address Technical Challenges: Proactively identify and resolve technical obstacles related to address management, qualification, fiber build software, and network software integration
  • Champion Technical Excellence: Promote high technical quality standards, code reviews, testing, and adherence to best practices relevant to telecommunications software development
  • Mentor and Coach: Mentor and coach team members on technical skills, problem-solving approaches, and best practices in software development specific to the telecommunications domain
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improvement in processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness in delivering software solutions for the telecommunications industry
  • Deployment Readiness: Assessing and making decisions on the readiness of software releases for deployment, ensuring all quality and functionality checks are met
  • Change Management: Submitting and presenting Change Requests to the Change Approval Board, providing justification and impact assessments
  • Risk Assessment: Evaluating the criticality and potential risks associated with software releases, making informed recommendations to stakeholders
  • Prioritization: Determining the priority of tasks and issues, including customer-impacting support tickets, to ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction

Qualifications

WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field OR Associate's degree with 5+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Work Experience: 5+ years of experience working in a software development organization, with at least two years in a technical leadership role, preferably in the telecommunications sector
  • Knowledge and Technical Skills:
    • Proven expertise in software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum)
    • Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and coding principles relevant to telecommunications applications
    • Familiarity with relevant programming languages, frameworks, and tools (e.g., GCP, Kafka, Kubernetes, Postgres, Apigee)
    • Familiarity with geolocation tools (e.g., Google Maps, Smarty), address management systems, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)
    • Experience with Agile project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in a fast-paced environment
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively manage onshore/offshore teams

BONUS POINTS FOR:

  • Certifications: Scrum Master certification or other Agile certifications.
  • Experience:
    • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment within the telecommunications industry
    • Hands-on experience with address management, qualification, fiber build software, or network software development projects
