In this role, you’ll be making some of the most significant decisions for the company. You’ll get to work with other engineers to build delightful features that span various parts of the system, as well as our business, sales, and operations teams to understand and solve our users’ pain points. Familiarity with lending and financial services is a plus; otherwise, you must demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and grow your understanding, which our team will support fully.
\n- Develop and maintain scalable software solutions by thinking carefully about component design and modularity (we lean towards clean/onion architecture)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand borrower acquisition, verification, underwriting, origination, servicing, and back-office functions (learning the domain is a big part of working at Canopy)
- Participate in product problem selection, product problem validation, and make sure you understand the problem space and desired outcomes
- Contribute to and manage architecture decision records (ADR) and RFCs to ensure system quality
- Manage deployments and on-call rotations with a "you write it, you own it" mentality, supported by our DevOps team at all times. Given our high SLA, the estimated actual time you might need to address any alerts is very low. On average, you might expect fewer than one incident per month, with each incident typically requiring around 1.5 hours to resolve
