What you’d be doing in this role
You’ll be on a mission to ensure that content within the Canva editor is high quality, fresh, inspiring, and caters to every user. In addition to sourcing and managing content, the team is dedicated to improving the contributor experience as well as promoting the best content to Canva users.
We’re interested in engaging an Senior Creative based in Australia on a 6 month project where you’ll be creating a variety of video elements for our library.
We’re looking for someone with exceptional organisational skills and a strong design/creative background to help produce content and direct production for the Canva library, manage some administrative tasks and provide artistic direction and quality assurance when necessary.
At the moment, this role is focused on
- Collaborating with teams to understand project vision and requirements.
- Developing concept ideas and mood boards aligned with narrative objectives.
- Proposing visual styles to enhance storytelling.
- Utilizing data insights for informed decisions.
- Sharing craft expertise with cross-functional teams.
- Ensuring cohesive final product through collaboration.
- Managing budgets effectively.
- Coordinating with production team and contractors to meet timelines.
- Collaborating with Tech teams for correct video ingestion and publication.
- Approving and adjusting sets, props, and visual effects as needed.
- Maintaining visual consistency and quality through post-production.
- Providing creative input for enhancing the final product.
- Staying updated on industry trends and incorporate new technologies.
- Communicating effectively with stakeholders to ensure accurate execution.
- Presenting concepts and progress, incorporating feedback as needed.
You're probably a match if
- You have a strong background in Video art direction.
- You have experience working in and leading a small team of creatives, and providing professional support and development for junior creatives
- You've got a passion for writing simple and clear briefs, with demonstrated experience in commissioning all types of creatives
- You have a strong portfolio demonstrating your passion for designing clean, elegant, and beautiful designs
- You have a good eye for composition and are up to date with styles and trends
- You can showcase an ability to work collaboratively in a creative team environment
- You are diligent to hit deadlines, and offer suggestions to streamline and improve team processes.
- You've got excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- You have a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, under tight deadlines, while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.
- You have a passion for storytelling and a deep understanding of how high-quality videography enhances the overall impact of content.

Canva would not exist without content. Our templates, photos, fonts, stock media and more play a critical and pivotal role in empowering our users to design anything and publish anywhere. Content has far-reaching business impact and is a key driver of user acquisition, retention and revenue
The Content Creative team’s mission is to build the most valuable content library in the world to inspire our users to create their next design. We work collaboratively across the Content & Discovery group, and other groups to identify & implement opportunities to drive user engagement through content. This group will be focused on developing the world’s most inspiring and valuable library of photos, videos, animations, illustrations, graphics, fonts, and more. Working to ensure that our content is Truly Local, the Content Creative sub-group has a global remit to create and acquire the most relevant, high quality content from around the world.
