The Accounting & Finance team at Chainalysis splits their time between fine-tuning the details and evaluating the 30,000 foot view of our business. Our job is to help the company plan for growth by investing in the right resources and audit our expenditures and revenues to ensure we’re being fiscally responsible.
As Senior Manager, Accounting, you’ll focus on driving efficiency across the financial close process through standardization, scalability, and automation. In this leadership role, you’ll be instrumental in collaborating with key business partners, developing talent within controllership, and expanding our capabilities to meet the needs of the future.
You’ll manage a set of accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, policies, and external audits. You’ll report to and work closely with the Director of Accounting and others in the organization in analysis and reconciliation of accounts and in development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and controls. An ideal candidate possesses leadership capabilities, solid operational and technical accounting background, and works proactively to drive results.
In this role, you’ll:
Apply advanced accounting guidance to new business processes
Project manage and review critical business deliverables in regards to financial close and audits
Ensure financial statements are in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and statutory requirements
Facilitate the gathering, analysis, prioritization, and complexity categorization of business requirements
Engage in analyzing people, product, and process for optimal business outcome
Lead complex cross-functional projects and programs with high visibility and long-term impact
Identify risks, dependencies and adjustments to optimize critical workstreams
Lead, coach, and grow a team responsible for the monthly closing of accounts, and preparation of reports in support of the financial statements
Assess team leveling and individual performance, and help to develop subject matter expertise
Communicate complex strategic plans up and downstream
We’re looking for candidates who have:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
7+ years of experience of accounting experience
3+ years of experience in a people management role
A strong sense of initiative and a bias for action
The ability to adapt and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, startup environment
A high level of integrity
A team-oriented and collaborative mindset
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Nice to have experience:
Master's degree in accounting, finance, or related field a plus
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
Public company readiness
Experience at a Big 4 Public Accounting firm
