Position Overview:
The Course Development Manager is responsible for quality professional education and training content and course delivery. This position is part of the Valuation and Property Services division as Colibri which serves appraisal, home inspection, land surveying, and professional engineering with high quality professional learning and training products. Content and courses include but are not limited to, qualifying education (QE), exam preparation, continuing education (CE), training experiences including certification preparation and review courses, webinars, and other learning modalities. The Course Development Manager models professionalism and exemplifies standards of quality in the work performed To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be incredibly organized and resourceful with sharp attention to detail and timeliness.
\n- Beginning-to-end acquisition and project management of the development of content across various valuation and property services disciplines, including:
- Researches and writes Statements of Work (SOWs) for projects
- Identifies, recruits, vets, onboardings, and trainings subject matter expert (SME) contractors with an emphasis on developing a good rapport with authors, reviewers, and learners
- Collaborates closely with the Director of Appraiser Training & Product Manager(s) to vet SME expertise, and validate content relevance and accuracy
- Oversees the content development process with teammates in Course Design and Production – assuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and of high quality
- Partners with the Accreditation and Regulatory team to ensure all content meets accreditation, regulatory, and compliance standards.
- Supports multiple content formats – online text and videos, livestream presentations, and correspondence books
- Guides content and curriculum through end-to-end process including external and internal resources; troubleshoots as needed
- Keep all stakeholders updated on delivery dates, delays, or blockers.
- Works closely with the Director of Appraiser Training & Product Manager(s), contributes to content and curriculum roadmap planning; understands existing content gaps and identifies learning & development of educational needs
- Assists in developing content playbooks and processes to make content acquisition, writing, and production as efficient as possible
- Manages content budget and ensures invoices are paid in a timely manner
- Proficient in Qualifying Education and Continuing Education trends and policies and procedures set by certifying/accrediting agencies.
- Prepares content and curriculum overview briefs to ensure teammates have the necessary information to support product operations and GTM planning
- Sources Subject Matter Expects to author Professional Development and library materials including job aids, whitepapers, checklists, videos, and case studies
- Recruits and vets Subject Matter Experts for non-credit webinars, podcasts, and technical blogs.
- Acquires and manages licenses from third-party providers such as Shutterstock, ensuring compliance with licensing terms and conditions
- Implements quality control processes to review and evaluate course functionality and course materials for accuracy
- Participates in various committees as required. Coordinates with other teams (e.g. – product, production, instructional designers, video developers, marketing, creative, accreditation, and editing) to ensure timely and accurate presentation of content.
- Balance efficiency and quality in content development:
- Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure content meets the needs of the customer.
- Executes regular check-ins with Subject Matter Experts to ensure maximum cohesion and effectiveness; identifies risks and clearly communicates goals to ensure tight coordination on project progress and deadlines.
- Proactively manages roadmap and schedules
- Establishes productivity goals and regularly meets or exceeds them.
- Completes other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Project Management or related field required; applicable experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in project management, publishing, or developing/editing/producing qualifying education (QE), continuing education (CE) or test-prep material
- Project management experience required with the ability to manage multiple projects at once, ensuring milestones and completion deadlines are met.
- Content acquisition experience preferred, including identifying, recruiting, and screening subject matter experts
- Experience with learning design and/or education technology a desirable.
- Experience using Monday.com and NetSuite is desirable.
- Background in any or all professions Colibri serves a plus, including appraisal, mortgage lending, engineering, home inspection, and/or land surveying.
