The Opportunity The Event Technical Support Service Manager works within the Video Engineering & Event Services department, a team of audio-visual engineers, service owners, technicians, and media producers. This team supports audio-visual applications, infrastructure, and services across the university including the Event Technical Support service, CUView Digital Signage, AV Consulting, Zoom, and Kaltura video streaming. In addition to IT service management (ITSM) responsibilities, the service manager engineers audio-visual distribution solutions for events, provides consultative services to campus customers, provides audio-visual support for some executive offices and meeting spaces, and coordinates technology support for Commencement Week, Reunions, New Student Convocation, Trustee Council Annual Meeting, Winter Recognition Ceremony, and other special events such as inaugurations or dignitary visits. Key responsibilities include: Provide technology coordination and consultation for University events. Act as Service Manager for the Event Technical Support and Media Production (ETSMP) service. Design and implement systems for event support. Provide Audio-visual support for executive offices and meeting rooms. What We Need Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and formal training with a minimum three (3) to five (5) years of experience in high profile event support and video streaming. Experience designing and field implementation of complex audio-visual signal distribution systems used for video streaming, broadcast, web conferencing, and local presentation. Demonstrated ability to communicate and coordinate effectively within an enterprise IT organization. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple simultaneous priorities, strong customer service drive, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Possess creative and effective problem-solving skills, including the ability to manage customer interactions and respond to problems with tact, patience, and professionalism. Ability to work a variable schedule including extended work times during the lead-up to and through live events that occur during university operating hours and evenings, weekends, and holidays. Proficiency using MS Office 365, including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams. Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of overall enterprise IT service portfolio. Experience with media production, Adobe Creative Suite, microphone technique, sound reinforcement, videography, shot composition, remote pan, tilt, zoom (PTZ) cameras, hard camera operations, and video editing. Avixa CTS certification. Experience with live streaming applications such as Live Stream Studio. Experience with web conferencing applications such as Zoom. Experience with firewall management.
