The Migration and Human Rights Program at Cornell Law School sits at the nexus of practice and research on immigration laws in the United States. The Program supports the collaboration of scholars at Cornell focused on immigration and human rights across many disciplines. The Opportunity The Project Coordinator of the Migration & Human Rights Program at Cornell Law School primarily works with Program faculty on fundraising, including drafting grant proposals, preparing funder reports and materials, and managing the stewardship of financial resources. They also work closely with Program faculty to oversee and coordinate a variety of initiatives and activities, including events. The Project Coordinator serves as a conduit between Program faculty and other Law School and university departments, ensuring that the Program’s activities and funding efforts follow current Law School and university policies. This grant funded position is for a one-year term, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The position is based in Ithaca, NY and candidates will be required to relocate if necessary. Flexibility for a hybrid schedule may be available. Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position. What We Need Bachelor’s degree and 2-4 years of experience or equivalent combination. Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with organizational, planning, time management, interpersonal skills. Exceptional legal research skills, including creative problem-solving. Strong creative and strategic thinking abilities. Ability to work successfully under pressure in a fast-paced setting, handling multiple tasks with differing deadlines, and to prioritize work on projects happening simultaneously. Ability to make sound judgments, skillfully dispensing accurate and detailed information in a professional manner to faculty, staff, students, and funders. Strong service orientation and high attention to detail. Experience in supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing. Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members. Ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality.
