This role is dedicated to a specific enterprise-level client that Darkroom is working with. It offers a unique opportunity to engage with a high-touch client on a special, 6-month project with the opportunity to extend contingent on the client engagement.
As a Lead Editor, you will help build out a team of editors below you dedicated to this project. We are building a team of editors to work with us on a game-changing client to produce video content at scale.
This is a fully remote role operating in the EST Time Zone and all business is conducted 100% in English.
What you’ll do:
Lead video editors while working in a fast-paced environment; provide mentorship and guidance to junior editors
Plan and manage all daily operations working with Post Producers to coordinate project timelines, quotes, and schedules
Develop and execute short-form video edits, layer audio seamlessly, and overlay text that drives key brand messaging
Brainstorm inventive edits and hooks that drive engagement, leverage new formats
Reviewing scripts to grasp video production needs and recommending essential elements
Editing raw footage and refining video sequences to effectively convey concepts like Commercial (ads, reels, organic) & Narrative (film/TV)
Stay current on all social media platforms, ad offerings, content publishers, tools, trends, and best practices
Organizing and overseeing all video and audio assets to maintain a seamless workflow
Be a creative collaborator: Have the ability to be the voice of the brand and the influencer to create content that is authentic and powerful for all channels
Work efficiently under tight deadlines to meet project goals
Select and trim footage, add transitions and effects, and incorporate music and sound effects
Provide accessible content that includes closed captioning, voiceover, and overlay text in a variety of aspect ratios
Great attention to detail and skilled at managing multiple, concurrent activities.
Proactively identifying and communicating gaps in deliverables, milestones, and technical deliverables.
You should apply if this sounds like you:
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (especially Media Encoder, After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Photoshop)
Familiarity with broadcast finishing workflows (mix, color, VFX, conform, online)
Reel with demonstrated editing work: Commercial (ads, reels, organic) & Narrative (film/TV)
Excellent verbal and written communication skills: English proficiency is a must for this role.
Great attention to detail and skilled at managing multiple, concurrent activities.
Proven experience as a managing editor or relevant role
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Outstanding communication and people abilities
Project management experience having led teams and projects
Strong Motion Graphics/ Graphic Design/ Typography skills required
Familiarity working in a networked server environment
Comfortable in non-video programs such as Figma and Notion
Exceptional time management and organization skills with the ability to manage deliverables
Highly organized, driven, and motivated with a great work ethic
