Position Overview
Dealfront is excited to be experiencing a level of growth where we are seeking an Engineering Manager to join our Data Processing team. This role involves leading a team of 4 whilst also playing a part as an individual contributor helping to achieve company goals.
Responsibilities
- Effectively manage the team including all aspects of objective planning, providing technical input, monitoring execution, performance reviews etc.
- Collaborate with product management and lead team to fulfil company goals
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders to understand their data needs and requirements.
- Act as individual contributor to support the team’s output
Qualifications:
- 5 Years experience in Data Engineering, including working with big Data
- At least 2 years experience leading data engineering teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or comparable
Skills:
- Data Engineering expertise with two of the following: Python, Rust, PHP
- Solid SQL and Data Analytics knowledge
- Experience with any of: Kafka, Redis, Solr/Elasticsearch, Postgres
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases
- Attention to detail and strong problem solving skills
- Experience managing, monitoring and troubleshooting production grade data pipelines
- Knowledge of data governance practices, data quality management, data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and data security measures
- Ability to present data insights and recommendations clearly and effectively
- Ability to manage and resolve conflicts within the team or with external stakeholders effectively
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple projects
- Willingness to self educate and fill gaps in required knowledge
- Openness to feedback and ability to adapt to changing circumstances
