Job Description

  • Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of a data governance framework aligned with the company’s objectives and regulatory requirements. 
  • Establish, communicate, and enforce data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data quality, consistency, and security 
  • Collaborate with data owners, data stewards, and business stakeholders across the company to define data governance roles and responsibilities. 
  • Lead data governance councils and working groups to report on and discuss data governance initiatives and ensure compliance with established policies. 
  • Monitor and report on data quality metrics and data governance KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions. 
  • Continuously improve data governance processes and operations based on feedback and best practices. 
  • Provide guidance and training to employees on data governance principles and practices. 
  • Deliver clear communications of initiative updates and announcements to the broader data community 
  • Create detailed documentation of policies and procedures, sharing with and informing key stakeholders 
  • Foster a culture of data stewardship and accountability across the organization. 
  • Support the rollout of a companywide data catalog 
  • Work closely with the Business Intelligence team to establish and instill data governance practices 
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data governance and data management. 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements: 

  • 10+ years of experience in working with enterprise data in a business intelligence, data management, operations or program management or similar capacity
  • 5+ years of experience in data governance, with proven leadership capabilities. 
  • Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing data governance frameworks, policies, and standards. 
  • Experience with data quality management, data stewardship, metadata management, master data management and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). 
  • Knowledgeable about data warehousing and business intelligence 
  • Proficiency in data management and visualization tools and platforms. Experience with Snowflake and Power BI is a plus. 
  • Experience with data governance and data catalog tools is a plus, especially DataHub 
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, practices, and technologies. 
  • Certification in data governance or data management (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) is a plus. 
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. 
  • Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex data governance concepts to diverse audiences. 
  • Ability to engage, influence, and lead cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including executive leadership. 
  • Ability to develop and deliver training and awareness programs on data governance 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. 
  • Strong team-building and mentoring skills. 
  • High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining data integrity and security. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

DOE, salary $140K - $160K, plus Health, Dental, Life, STD, LTD, 401K, PTO. Total compensation may vary depending on candidate experience/education and location.
