Experian EITS is looking for an experienced software data engineer who will play a key role in designing and building software systems that deliver scalable solutions for applications utilizing large and diverse data sources. The recent advancements in areas like Generative AI have heightened the need for processing both structured and unstructured data to effectively leverage large language models. We are looking for a skilled professional with hands-on experience in software and data engineering to enhance our data science and machine learning efforts. This role involves close collaboration with various technology teams to guide the inception, implementation, and deployment of these solutions.
What you’ll be doing
- Collaborate with data scientists and machine learning engineers to integrate and optimize applications of large language models
- Implement best practices for data processing (ingestion, cleansing, transformation, storage) and management, ensuring data quality and integrity
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines, storage and processing
- Exploration of novel and innovative technologies to enhance existing products and shape new products
- Work collaboratively with engineers and scientists across regions and business units
- Ability and willingness to document, summarize and communicate development results to stakeholders
Qualifications
What your background looks like
- Masters degree in a related quantitative field (Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Economics)
- 10+ years of relevant working experience in a similar role, preferably involving business information, fraud, or credit data
- Experience developing sofware in Java, Python, C/C++ or other programming languages
- Experience with data querying languages (e.g. SQL)
- Experience with machine learning methods such as Neural Networks, Clustering, SVM, Ensemble models, Reinforcement Learning
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD degree in a related quantitative field (Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Economics).
- Extensive experience with large data architectures, including Spark, Hadoop, or similar technologies
- Proficiency in embedding models, chunking strategies, and vector stores
- Hands-on experience with modern Generative AI tools and frameworks such as OpenAI, Hugging Face, AWS Bedrock, LangChain, and LlamaIndex
- Proven track record of guiding team members in deploying AI/ML solutions into production environments
- Strong familiarity with cloud-based platforms for machine learning and data processing
