Weâre looking for an experienced Copywriter who deeply understands the film industry to join our team. This is a full-time role for someone passionate about the art of storytelling and the business of distribution.
As a Copywriter at Filmhub, youâll create engaging, informed, and persuasive content for multiple platforms, helping us strengthen our position as a leader in modern film distribution. Youâll work on web copy, press releases, sales materials, and social media campaigns, bringing Filmhubâs voice and mission to life for filmmakers, rights holders, and industry professionals worldwide.
What will I be doing? đĄ
⢠Web & Email Copywriting: Create dynamic, impactful content for Filmhubâs website, email campaigns, and newsletters to engage and inform industry professionals.
⢠Press Releases: Craft professional press releases that announce Filmhubâs achievements, acquisitions, and partnerships, aligning with industry standards.
⢠Sales & Marketing Materials: Develop polished pitch decks, sales one-sheets, and presentations to showcase Filmhubâs value to filmmakers, distributors, and strategic partners.
⢠Social Media Content: Write compelling, platform-specific content to drive engagement and grow Filmhubâs presence on LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and more.
⢠Storytelling: Translate complex industry concepts, like rights licensing or film market dynamics, into captivating narratives for diverse audiences.
⢠Industry Insight: Leverage your knowledge of film rights, theatrical distribution, sales agents vs. distributors, and film markets/festivals to ensure accuracy and authenticity in all materials.
What skills do I need?đ
⢠Industry Expertise: You have an in-depth understanding of the film business, including rights, licensing, theatrical distribution, and global film markets. Deep familiarity with IFTA is essential. Strong understanding of how film markets (e.g., Cannes, TIFF, AFM) operate differently from festivals.
⢠Proven Experience: Youâve written for respected publications such as Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline, or equivalent outlets. A portfolio showcasing work for industry publications, press releases, or marketing campaigns.
⢠Storytelling Skills: Exceptional ability to craft concise, impactful narratives for press releases, web copy, email campaigns, and social media.
⢠Creative Problem Solving: You can turn technical and industry-specific information into content that inspires and engages.
⢠Collaborative Spirit: You thrive in cross-functional teams and can align content with broader marketing, PR, and sales goals.
⢠Location: Ideally based in Los Angeles or New York City, with an understanding of the local film industry ecosystems.
