As part of Product Engineering organization, you will be working on enhancing and building cutting edge tools and driving enhancements of cloud operations. We're seeking a seasoned senior engineer with a fervor for crafting high performance service solutions for enabling better cloud software enabled operations, continuous deployment to build cloud technologies of the future and build solution parity across platforms. This is a pivotal role that requires to be a self-starter backed by innovative problem-solving. As a creative self-starter, you'll play a pivotal role on this team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, Implement and Automate large scale distributed systems.
  • Build tools and automation to help Five9 achieve better availability, scalability, latency and efficiency.
  • Work with Engineering teams to deliver high quality software in fast-paced environment.
  • Monitor production and development environments to build preventive measures to enable a fail-safe experience to our customers.
  • Document and communicate clearly to architect and implement solutions.
  • Work closely across teams and bridge the gap between product managers, architects, and implement reliable consistent solutions.
  • Work with delivery teams on software improvements to achieve higher availability and lower MTTD.
  • Expertise to debug and support production issues.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of professional software development life cycle / DevOps / production operations experience.
  • 2+ years of systems support, debugging and networking experience.
  • 2+ years of public cloud experience (GCP, AWS or Openstack).
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong development and infrastructure as code experience using one or more programming languages – Terraform, Python, other scripting languages.
  • Orchestration and container management know-how with Kubernetes, Helm, GKE and Docker.
  • Experience with config management tools such as Ansible, Puppet or Chef.
  • Experience with Incident Management Process, SRE best practices and continuous improvements.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently and collaboratively within and across teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

This role is fully remote for candidates who reside at least 50 miles away from our San Francisco or San Ramon office locations. For candidates who reside within 50 miles of our San Francisco or San Ramon locations, this role will be Hybrid. 

Must be a U.S. Citizen residing in the United States.
