JOB SUMMARY: The AVP, Fraud & KYC Technical Lead, Digital Banking helps drive the technical vision and execution of our fraud and KYC initiatives in close partnership with the Product Lead. This position oversees the technical strategy for platforms such as Plaid, Alloy, and ThreatMark, ensuring these tools meet our security and compliance standards while optimizing user experience. This role requires a strong technical background in fraud prevention and risk management, as well as the ability to work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and compliance teams.
\n- Define and implement the technical roadmap for fraud and KYC tools, collaborating closely with the Product Lead to ensure alignment with product strategy and regulatory requirements
- Act as the technical subject matter expert for tools like Plaid, Alloy, and ThreatMark, guiding architecture and development decisions
- Partner with the Product Lead to design, develop, and implement scalable, secure solutions that enhance fraud detection, streamline customer onboarding, and ensure compliance
- Lead technical evaluations of third-party solutions, selecting and integrating the best-in-class tools to optimize our fraud and KYC, capabilities
- Work alongside compliance and legal teams to interpret regulatory requirements, ensuring technical solutions meet global KYC standards
- Design and implement risk controls to prevent fraud and mitigate threats, adapting technology in response to emerging risks and regulatory updates
- Develop and refine data-driven solutions to enhance fraud detection and risk assessment, leveraging machine learning and advanced analytics
- Establish and monitor technical KPIs to measure the effectiveness of fraud and KYC tools, continually optimizing for accuracy and efficiency
- Partner with cross-functional teams—including product, engineering, compliance, and customer support—to drive seamless and secure user experiences
- Manage relationships with third-party vendors and solution providers, ensuring high-quality technical integration and ongoing support
- Provide guidance and mentorship to engineering teams focused on fraud and KYC, fostering technical excellence and a culture of innovation
- Provide technology delivery leadership on all initiatives related to Fraud and KYC working in partnership with product managers, digital experience tech leads, vendor teams, and overall program management leads
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field required
- 5+ years of experience technology design, development, and delivery showing progression/promotion within the tech or financial services industry
- Understanding and application of technology trends (banking industry, risk and compliance industry and overall best practices)
- Strong relationship building, influence skills and ability to productively interact with all levels of leadership
- Strong facilitation, communication and presentation skills with tech and business audiences
- Ability to create/modify/communicate tech roadmap, and design/advocate for solutions that align to existing roadmaps
- Familiarity with financial services back office and fraud operations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Advanced PowerPoint skills and competent use of other Microsoft Office applications
- Preferred experience in JIRA and Confluence
- Preferred experience with fraud and KYC solutions like Plaid, Alloy, and ThreatMark, including technical implementation and integration
The pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. $155,000 (entry level qualifications) to $185,000 (highly experienced).
