JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Staff Internal Auditor role reports to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit and works closely with senior leadership and other key stakeholders. This position conducts audits and reviews various areas related to Forbright Bank, assisting in the development of audit programs, testing with a focus on business operations and internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR). This role is responsible for auditing the non-IT controls over financial reporting as part of the Bank’s annual FDICIA assessment which helps provide comfort over financial reporting at the Bank. Additionally, the Senior Staff Auditor is responsible for auditing various operational and/or financial processes and controls in accordance with the Bank’s annual Internal Audit Plan.
\n- Assist the Internal Audit team in accomplishing audit department objectives in a team environment
- Perform FDICIA walkthroughs of key processes and obtain in-depth understanding of the risks over financial statements and related disclosures
- Perform FDICIA design and operating effectiveness assessments of the controls over financial reporting and related disclosures, documenting results and conclusions in accurate, logical, and detailed workpapers
- Assist in the execution of audits in accordance with departmental and professional internal audit standards, plan and prioritize audit work, conduct interviews, document and analyze procedures and controls, prepare workpapers, and develop audit recommendations
- Maintain open communication with Bank management, external auditor, and the co-sourced internal audit team
- Provide assistance to external auditors, as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline or equivalent experience required
- Minimum 2 – 3 years of auditing experience, including previous experience in public accountingor internal auditrequired
- Strong technical knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Internal Controls
- CPA and/or CIA certification preferred
- Experience leveraging data analytics tools to analyze/test audit data sets
- Proficiency in audit methodology and risk/controls assessments
- Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize tasks/projects
- Demonstrated ability to build professional relationship and rapport with business owners
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of the Banking industry preferred
The pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on the successful candidate’s qualifications and prior experience. $60,000 (entry level qualifications) to $80,000 (highly experienced).
