Summary:
Our global IT team is experiencing an exciting transformation as we move into the cloud. The Cloud Engineer will help drive the successful implementation of secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud environments. They will also be responsible for designing, architecting, and delivering on cloud migration of legacy software as well as advising and implementing serverless technologies to replace on-prem and other legacy software applications or services. The Cloud Engineering team is responsible for maintaining the cloud infrastructure and ensuring that it meets the highest standards including proper security controls, automation and using Infrastructure-as-Code, resiliency, and cost effective serverless models.
\n- Architect, design and implement cloud infrastructure utilizing Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Migrate networks, services, applications and environments from on-prem data centers to AWS following cloud best practices.
- Automate CI/CD deployments using industry standards with tools like GitLab Runners.
- Collaborate with technical and delivery teams to analyze cloud platform requirements and define technical specifications.
- Assist in updating ops processes to ensure effective support and monitoring of bespoke enterprise-scale cloud environments to ensure high availability and efficient performance.
- Support the resolution of 3rd line incidents and problems relating to cloud platform and Infrastructure.
- Aid in the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.
- Write, review, and assure technical documentation such as HLDs, LLDs, Runbooks and Playbooks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and deliver tailored cloud solutions.
- Establish and promote best development standards and practices within the team.
- 2-4 years of experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and platforms is required; familiarity with Azure is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Hands-on experience with AWS networking, including VPCs, subnets, routing tables, gateways, firewalls, security groups, and network ACLs.
- Demonstrable experience with Infrastructure-as-Code technologies (e.g., CDK, Terraform).
- Experience with foundational AWS services such as Control Tower, Organizations, and Landing Zones for enterprise frameworks.
- Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, Fargate, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, API Gateway, AppSync, Step Functions, EventBridge, IAM, Cognito, CloudFront, and more.
- Experience with Git/GitLab for version control.
- Experience with TypeScript is preferred.
- Knowledge/experience of JIRA Software and Confluence.
- Experience working in an agile environment and following agile principles.
- Ability to manage and prioritize ticket-based workload along with incoming side requests.
- Proficient in working with non-technical end users, translating technical concepts, and understanding and resolving user issues.
- Strong collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical teams. Able to communicate complex ideas clearly.
- Skilled at troubleshooting and resolving cloud infrastructure incidents to minimize downtime.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including IAM, network security, and data protection.
- Keeps up with cloud trends and emerging technologies, contributing innovative ideas.
