About the role
At Going, we're passionate about helping people travel and experience the world. As our member base grows, we're thrilled to expand our team with a Senior Engineering Manager to help us build, expand, and grow our travel platform offerings.
With your experience in software development, you'll play a crucial role in creating a new way for our travelers to experience Going. You'll collaborate closely with our product and design teams to build innovative features and mentor/grow our engineering team. Additionally, you'll work with our other engineering leaders to help shape what Going Engineering becomes and be integral in building our culture and organization.
This is a highly impactful role. You'll transform how our members interact with Going and, ultimately, how they travel and explore our world.

In the short term, you will...
Hire and scale up your team and adjacent teams
Provide coaching, mentorship, and sponsorship, empowering engineering squads to excel
Support teams in estimation, planning, implementation, and deployment of large features and improvements
Collaborate closely with Product Management and help us advance our strategic roadmap
In the long term, you will...
Play a pivotal role in defining and cultivating our engineering culture.
Assist and accelerate the professional growth of your direct reports, preparing them for larger and more complex challenges
Identify and implement measures of engineering outcomes and improvements
Lead projects strategically to improve the performance and results of your team
What you bring to the table...
Need to have:
Experience working within the travel industry/OTAs, E-Commerce or B2C applications at scale
Minimum of 8 years in professional software development, including at least 3 years in a managerial role overseeing development teams
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively
Strategic thinking. You know how to design initiatives thoughtfully, measure success, and iterate as-needed
Proven ability to advance and develop talent, characterized by a growth mindset and a track record of effective coaching and mentorship
Experience leading one or multiple teams of individual contributors, effectively managing workflows and project outcomes
Nice to have:
Experience with remote team management
Experience in mobile development

The salary for this role is $195,782 + equity
