The Granicus Quality Automation Engineer is responsible for creating, managing, documenting, and executing automated test suites from scratch. The Quality Automation Engineer contributes to the overall quality of multiple software platforms, executing on quality initiatives throughout the entire testing lifecycle. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, automated test suite creation, automated test execution, mentorship of automated testing team, manual testing, defect analysis, status reporting, and generating metrics as required.
Granicus releases new features and functionality frequently, and the QE team is on the cutting edge of everything we do. In this role you and your team become key product experts and drive how new features are implemented.
\n- Develop and execute reusable automated test suites for existing features and new product enhancements
- Integrate automated tests and test results into appropriate CI/CD pipelines
- Debug and triage failures, escalating issues as warranted
- Lead and mentor automated test team
- Conduct manual testing as needed (including the creation and execution of test cases)
- Identify areas of risk and mitigate those areas to ensure stable releases
- Ensure quality criteria is met for all areas before product release
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related field; or software test related experience/knowledge
- 2-3+ years of experience with automated testing, creating and executing automated test suites from scratch using Ruby/Rails, Java, Javascript, or equivalent automation tech stack in a professional software development environment
- 2+ years of experience manual testing in a web-based testing environment
- Experience with exploratory/edge/corner testing techniques and risk-based testing
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment
- Experience in Dynamics CRM solutions (either as tester or developer), including functional, integration, and regression testing
- Firm understanding of CRM modules, customizations, & configurations
- Experience in SQL and Data Management
- Experience in API testing (Postman, Rest, or similar)
- Experience with Javascript
- Experience with Cypress
- Familiarity working within an agile software development process (XP)
- Experience with cross-browser and mobile device compatibility testing
- Experience testing web services
- Experience in a SaaS environment
Examples of Possible Performance Metrics:
• Customer-reported production defects are under a certain threshold
• Overall test coverage is increased
• Risk-assessment is created for components going into a release
