The Network Engineer is part of the Infrastructure Engineering team at Granicus. The team supports and maintains network hardware, software, and critical systems with a focus on security, availability, and scalability. The ideal candidate possesses strong network triage and troubleshooting skills, with specific focus on network switches, firewalls, load balancers and internet service providers.
\n- Follow infrastructure team processes and actively seek to improve them, especially as it relates to implementing automation of repeatable tasks
- Identify and fix problem areas in the existing enterprise network
- Execute quality changes and perform code and change request reviews
- As part of an on-call team, triage and troubleshoot efficiently and effectively during production incidents
- Ensure network resources and assets are logged and monitored along with appropriate actions for events
- Analyze log files and other network data using available tools
- Develop documentation to empower other team members and accurately represent projects and procedures
- Plan for and install new software/firmware releases and hardware/software upgrades to meet security and supportability requirements
- Act as a point of escalation for other engineers
- You have 5+ years of experience administrating network routers, switches, and firewalls
- You have 3+ years of experience administrating load balancers
- You have 3+ years of experience configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols
- You have 2+ years of experience with 1 or more cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc)
- You have 1+ years of experience writing automation (Python, Ansible, Terraform, etc)
- You have 1+ years of experience with Git or other version control system
- You have specific technical experience with regular patching of network firmware and software systems
- You have experience and an understanding of certificates and certificate management
- You have an understanding of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST 800-53, FedRAMP)
- You have worked in a large enterprise environment, providing network support
- You are passionate about technology and keep abreast of developments in your field
- You have the ability to adapt to a changing environment
- You are a motivated self-starter capable of picking up work on your own
- The ideal candidate has some level of experience with the following network technologies (bonus if your experience matches the specific products at Granicus in parenthesis):
- Network switches (Cisco)
- Load balancers (F5)
- Firewalls (Cisco ASA, Palo Alto)
- System|Network monitoring tools (Firemon, LogicMonitor)
- IDS/IPS (Palo Alto)
- DNS and IP Management (Infoblox)
- Responsible for Granicus information security by appropriately preserving the Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability (CIA) of Granicus information assets in accordance with the company's information security program.
- Responsible for ensuring the data privacy of our employees and customers, their data, as well as taking all required privacy training in a timely manner, in accordance with company policies.
