Description

We are looking for a stellar technical content strategist/architect for our product documentation and learning content. 


In this role, you will lead designing, developing, and maintaining content strategies and structures that ensure our product information is accessible, engaging, and well-organized across our Documentation and Education offerings. 


You will work closely with various teams, including Documentation, Education, Design, Product Management, and Development, to create cohesive and user-centric content experiences. The role requires a strong understanding of structured content, content management and governance, user experience design, and information architecture principles.


To succeed in this role, you must have excellent communication skills, strong technical skills, and a hands-on approach. Expect to work in a fast-changing, flexible environment, where collaboration is key.

Key Responsibilities
  • Content Strategy Development: Create and implement content strategies that align with business and product goals, and meet the needs of our users, which include business analysts, technical consultants, and programmers.
  • Information Architecture: Design and manage content structures, content models, and taxonomies to ensure content is logically organized easy to navigate, reference, and reuse where appropriate. 
  • Content Management: Define structures and processes in the learning content management system (LCMS) to ensure content is properly organized, categorized, and searchable.
  • Content Governance: Build and implement guidelines, standards, and best practices for content creation, maintenance, and archival. 
  • Content Audits: Conduct periodic audits of existing content to identify gaps, redundancies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Search Optimization: Review user search data and make recommendations on content organization, topic titles,  SEO, and metadata to help users find the right answers.  Ensure content is optimized for search engines to increase visibility and traffic.
  • Content Experience Design: Collaborate with designers to build great content experiences for our users. 
  • Analytics and Reporting:  Use analytics to measure the effectiveness of content and make data-driven decisions for improvements. Build analytics dashboards as needed.
  • User Empathy: Develop an understanding of our applications and platform, and of how our users use them and the challenges they face. 
  • Thought Leadership: Stay abreast of industry trends in content development, content management, multi-channel content delivery, content experience, and provide thought leadership on integrating new approaches as appropriate. Provide training and support to content creators and other stakeholders on best practices on content creation and organization. 


Requirements
  • At least seven years of experience working on B2B enterprise content in a high-tech industry, preferably in a SaaS environment. At least three years of content strategy or IA experience.   
  • Ability to analyze data and metrics and to derive insights that inform content strategy decisions.
  • Solid understanding of content authoring flows, content governance, and publishing/delivery tools and processes.
  • Understanding of structured content (such as DITA, MarkDown, XML), content architecture, content audits, metadata, taxonomy, search optimization principles.
  • Proficiency with source control systems (such as Git), learning content management systems (such as Xyleme), familiarity with HTML/CSS, and analytics tools (such as Google Analytics and Pendo).
  • Experience architecting and reorganizing large content sets.
  • High technical aptitude to understand our complex products, applications, and platform, and the needs of our users. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of emerging technologies and trends in the content landscape.
  • Proven success collaborating with and driving change across diverse global teams in a matrixed environment.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

$118,000 - $152,000 a year
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $118,000 - $152,000+ bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
