Position Summary
HackerOne is looking for a Technical Community Manager to join our HackerOne Community Team and help some of our largest customers secure their products via our live hacking event program! This is a perfect role for someone who knows security and enjoys helping others level up their knowledge. The Technical Program Manager will work closely with HackerOne internal technical stakeholders as well as our customers, helping plan, launch, and run the Ambassador World Cup and support Flagship Live Hacking Events.
As a customer-facing member of our Community Team, a core function of this role is to provide strategic support to customer accounts, internal stakeholders, and our hacker community. This role will work directly with our customers to ensure that our Ambassador World Cup program is successful while driving meaningful results for their security teams, and bringing engagement and opportunity to our HackerOne hacker community.
What You Will Do
Use your customer success expertise to help customers initiate, plan, launch, and operate during the Ambassador World Cup - this includes defining scope/test plans, supporting hacker engagement and working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders like sales and CSMs
Ability to serve as technical escalation for mediations, customer or researcher concerns to develop appropriate solutions and delivery of internal enablement to support at scale
Work with customers of all skill levels, from customers who have never done a bug bounty before, to industry veterans
Educate and consult with customers on the security issues they encounter through the tournament
Monitor the participating customers’ programs to ensure they are getting the maximum value from their program, and that they’re set up to keep hackers engaged and finding vulnerabilities
Identify and execute on new process improvements, data intelligence, playbooks, and shared tooling that increase program success rate and make salable improvements across the Community team
Compile data throughout Ambassador World Cup for internal and external use
Support our Program Managers (Customer Success Managers) and other parts of the organization by handling escalations that require technical and security expertise
Provide additional support for Flagship Live Hacking Events throughout the calendar year
Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of application security experience, understand security fundamentals and common vulnerabilities (e.g. OWASP Top Ten)
3+ years of customer-facing or consulting experience
2+ years of experience with project management to appropriate plan and delegate requirements for successful program execution
Experience with security client engagements, e.g., pentesting, security consulting, vulnerability management, etc. preferred
Must be willing to travel: up to 20% travel required

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to demonstrate empathy with multiple audiences
You will be an advocate for both hackers and customers, and will need to appropriately influence and push back when needed to help both be successful
Must be based remotely in US or Canada (Eastern timezone only), UK, or Ireland. HackerOne is a digital-first company. This model offers our employees flexibility in time and location. All employees must be able to work and excel in a remote environment.
