Manager, IT

Position Summary

As the IT Manager, you’ll be a strategic leader responsible for overseeing our IT help desk and managing a team of IT professionals. You’ll play a key role in shaping our IT operations, developing scalable systems, and implementing secure, reliable technology solutions to support HackerOne’s growth and mission. This role offers an opportunity to drive impactful initiatives that enhance our digital-first environment and enable seamless collaboration across global teams.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the IT help desk function, ensuring high-quality, responsive support across HackerOne’s distributed workforce.

  • Oversee day-to-day IT operations, focusing on security, device management, identity management, and network stability.

  • Develop and execute a scalable IT systems roadmap aligned with company objectives and requirements.

  • Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, fostering growth, engagement, and accountability.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Engineering, Security, and Compliance, to support key projects and initiatives.

  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure the efficiency of services.

  • Establish performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the employee experience and IT service quality.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI

  • Develop and maintain identity and access management (IAM) frameworks and processes, ensuring appropriate user access controls, authentication mechanisms, and authorization policies

Minimum Qualifications  

  • 3+ years of people management experience, with a focus on coaching and performance management

  • 5+  years of progressive IT engineering & security experience in a growth-based, B2B organization, preferably with public company and/or IPO preparation experience

  • Experience of strategic, cross-functional technical leadership, with a demonstrated history of execution excellence

  • Familiarity with identity management frameworks and technologies, such as LDAP, OAuth, and SAML

  • Experience leading and managing IT operations to ensure the department aligns with the business objectives of the organization

  • Must be based remotely in the United States. HackerOne is a digital-first company. This model offers our employees flexibility in time and location. All employees must be able to work and excel in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

  • Excellent project management and execution skills but also hands-on and willing to engage in support and security incidents

  • HackerOne is a digital first company, and all employees must be able to work and excel in a remote environment

Compensation Bands:
$150K – $170K • Offers Equity
