Description
Position Summary:
The Director of Product Management is responsible for Healthmap’s product planning and execution of all data enrichment and insight generation activities, through the lifecycle of the business and product. This person will be inclusive of gathering and prioritizing requirements for the product, defining the vision for the product, and collaborating with other directors from the engineering, marketing, sales, and operations departments to ensure that the financial and consumer satisfaction goals are met. The Director of Product Management also ensures that that the company’s overall strategy and goals are supported by those of the product; that the product goals and strategy do not deviate from that of the business. Drive and modify key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives and key results (OKRs). Build project management practices around agile and scrum methodologies.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee Data Enrichment and Insight Generation –build an understanding and cultivate in the departments’ members the product’s vision, the business case, as well as compiling the product planning material necessary for driving product initiatives further with clarity and consensus
- Develop, define, and oversee the product’s roadmap and managing it as required for the purpose of meeting deliverables for the business
- Incorporate the existing development backlog and makes priorities as determined by the business, consumer, and market needs
- Establish overarching product team expectations, assemble, and train product managers and senior product managers as well as ensure product members have the necessary resources to launch new products – service or technology/ digital – and improve the features of existing ones
- Work with Executive team to set key targets (OKRs) and responsible for ensuring developed products are meeting said targets and timelines
- Aware of the big picture, industry trends, and mindful of the details of individual products
- Conversant and quick to learn about the tradeoffs of a given technology. This understanding enhances product decision-making and gains the trust of engineering teams
- Review and track team-wide development goals
- Clear ability to work with Product Managers helping them and other cross functional participants prioritize development to be in line with company priorities
- Assist in hiring, onboarding, and training product managers and senior product managers
- Ensure tools and software resources are properly allocated throughout the team
- Communicate needs between product team, executives, and stakeholders. Advocate and develop business cases – and clear ROI – for additional resources (especially technical) – as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or STEM field; MBA is preferred
- Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in Product Management, Product Strategy, Finance and/ or Consulting
- Healthcare experience required (specifically in Population Health management, Kidney Care, or Consumer Health Tech)
- Strong technical understanding to be able to work with, coordinate with, and lead Engineering and Data Science teams
- Ability to navigate through situations to ensure the most robust and pragmatic solutions
- Expertise in strategic thinking, building business cases, and getting buy-in from the organization
