Currently, we are seeking a Lead Engineer - Datacenter and Cloud Operations to join our growing team! Your responsibilities will include overseeing technical site operations within data centers, managing mission-critical projects, and leading Engineering Project services while adhering to Health and Safety protocols.We're seeking an individual with a keen awareness of mission-critical site operations and a robust technical skill set in building services. This role is tailored for those actively engaged in mission-critical systems and are eager to be hands-on. Effective communication is essential for success in this role. As the lead engineer, you'll take ownership of assigned tasks and projects, ensuring their timely completion. Collaboration with our offshore partner team to maintain adherence to timelines and quality standards is also a key aspect.

\n- Lead the data center operations and maintenance in Ashburn, Virginia, ensuring adherence to industry best practices and maintaining high standards of operations, product and service quality, reliability, and safety. Assist with technical architecture and design as needed.
- Oversee all aspects of site infrastructure, including equipment installation and maintenance, while leading technical risk mitigation processes and ensuring prompt, efficient response and resolution to all site incidents. Monitor the reliability and stability of deployed products and solutions, implementing proactive tuning and improvements, and maintaining up-to-date capacity-related data for mitigation planning.
- Evaluate and promote site-wide quality improvements and initiatives, taking direct responsibility for planned and reactive maintenance.
- Review and manage Jira tickets, ensuring alignment with defined goals, and coordinate with the offshore team through regular calls to ensure timely goal achievement and commitment delivery.
- Stay updated on changes made by the offshore CloudOps team, take full ownership of managed projects, and serve as the US point of contact.
- Possess expertise in routing protocols, switching technologies, firewalls, and passive network experience in a data center environment.
- Improve the monitoring system on infrastructure components, troubleshoot issues, and demonstrate familiarity with cloud technologies, specifically AWS services.
- Manage day-to-day network requests and tickets for on-premises network devices and the cloud, as well as virtual machine and storage requests.
- Own and drive the quarterly server patching, monitor network device health daily, and ensure 100% uptime for cloud-to-data center links.
- Plan and execute Platform and OS upgrades leaving at least 12 months runway before EOL
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or HHAeXchange leader.
- Travel up to 10%, including overnight travel
- Expertise in Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS) and Windows
- Strong system engineering background
- Prior network experience in a data center
- Prior experience with firewalls. (SonicWall preferred)
- Prior experience with switching technologies. (VLAN, Trunk, QOS, link aggregation, STP)
- Understanding of different storage systems.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (Subnetting, VLAN, NAT) and high-level AWS networking knowledge (TGW, VPC Peering, Flow Logs, VPG)
- Prior experience with routing protocols. (Static, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF)
- Expertise in one major cloud vendor, AWS strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with Infrastructure as code concepts, (IaC), Terraform or CloudFormation
- Design and develop cloud operation solutions that benefit all engineering teams (AWS VPN, Workspace)
- Familiarity with scripting languages, Bash, Python
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket)
- Familiarity with identity management and permission control (LDAP, Active Directory, IAM)
- Ability to implement design patterns for distributed systems.
- Eager to learn and implement new solutions on AWS.
- Solid understanding of hybrid cloud environments
- Leadership skills and ability to supervise on-shore/off-shore teams.
