About the Role
As a Backend Software Engineer, you’ll be working on the CRM product of our Houzz Pro SaaS offering that helps professionals manage the lifecycle of their leads (homeowners who can potentially become the professional's clients). We are looking for someone who is self-directed, independent, and has experience owning complete products and features. Our tech stack includes React, Node, GraphQL, Java, Python, AWS, GitHub, Jenkins, Kubernetes, MySQL, Lucene/Solr, Redis, Kafka, Docker and more. Your work will directly impact millions of users around the world. This is a unique opportunity to work in a start-up environment with the backing of a larger organization.
\n- Take high level ideas and transform them into live products, used by millions of homeowners and professionals from around the world
- Build features for all parts of our web application, its libraries, and microservices
- Work cross-functionally across engineering, product, and design teams
- Build and improve Houzz Pro Lead -Management, including the overall experience and a focus on CRM feature sets: Lead pipeline management, --Lead navigation, Lead message and Advanced -Lead management features such as Tags, Calendar, Tasks
- Proficiency in web application programming (OOP, Java/C++, PHP, Javascript)
- A good understanding of algorithms, distributed systems and microservice architecture
- A desire to build an engaging consumer experience
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of engineering experience
- Independence, self-direction and experience owning complete products and features
- Experience developing consumer facing features for millions of consumers
- Comfort working on fast paced, data-driven projects
- 3+ years of engineering experience
- Proficiency in web stack programming, from schema design to building user-facing interfaces
- Experience with relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL) or NoSQL databases & data stores (e.g. Redis, Cassandra)
- Experience with monitoring platforms such as Pingdom, Grafana, Prometheus, Bosun and TSDB
