Your Role
We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers and/or engineering managers within a specific division or group of products. This role requires a high level of strategic thinking, technical leadership, and management expertise to drive our mission forward.
As a Senior Engineering Manager at Hudl, you will:
- Lead Division-Level Strategy: Shape and drive the strategy for your division, ensuring alignment with Hudl’s overall vision. Your strategic insights will help set the direction for multiple teams and ensure we stay ahead in the market.
- Manage and Develop Leaders: Foster a strong management culture by leading and mentoring Engineering Managers. You’ll be responsible for developing leadership capabilities, promoting best practices, and ensuring high performance across your division.
- Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work closely with leaders from various disciplines to plan and deliver enhancements across your product suite. Your ability to integrate diverse perspectives will be key to driving innovation and ensuring our products meet the highest standards.
- Drive Technical Excellence: Serve as a technical leader, guiding your teams in the development of robust, scalable solutions on the cloud. Your deep technical knowledge will be crucial in solving complex challenges and driving engineering excellence.
- Champion Agile Practices: Participate actively in high-level planning and Scrum ceremonies, playing a significant role in maintaining a strong team culture. You will build and lead a diverse and high-performing roster, driving Hudl’s mission forward.
We'd like to hire someone for this role who lives near our offices in Lincoln, Omaha or Lexington, but we're also open to remote candidates in Kansas City, Chicago, Austin, Dallas or Phoenix.
Must-Haves
- Have extensive experience in cloud technology and building highly scalable software solutions. You should have a proven track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based systems that can scale efficiently and handle large volumes of data.
- Demonstrate a track record of driving technical strategy and leading engineering efforts. You will have experience in setting technical direction and guiding your teams towards successful project outcomes, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
- Possess strong managerial experience. You must have a background in leading engineering teams and managers, with skills in career coaching, performance management, and fostering a strong management culture.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Your ability to articulate ideas clearly and work effectively with various stakeholders will be crucial in driving cross-functional projects and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Be committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. You will champion diversity and inclusion within your teams, creating a workplace where all team members feel valued and empowered to contribute.
Nice-to-Haves
- Professional background in relevant technologies. Experience with C#, React, React-Native, MongoDB, and AWS is a plus. Familiarity with adjacent languages, frameworks, and services used at scale is also valuable.
- Experience in product partnership. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Product Managers to shape and solidify the team’s roadmap will be an asset.
