The Role
As our product grows, we are looking for a Backend Engineer (.NET) to join us remotely from Ukraine. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in developing new features, improving existing services, and supporting production environments, while fostering a strong coding culture within the Ideals Board product.
You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, DevOps, and customer support, while reporting to the Engineering Manager to ensure timely and high-quality feature delivery. We’re looking for a proactive Backend Engineer who doesn’t just execute tasks but actively contributes by challenging product decisions, understanding the broader impact, and helping shape the direction of the work. Your expertise will drive product development, support the adoption of modern technologies, and ensure best engineering practices are followed.

\n- Participate in all phases of the SDLC as part of a cross-functional product team. This includes, but is not limited to, requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing (unit and integration tests), building, deployment, and operation of new product increments, handling change requests, defect resolution, spikes, and proof-of-concepts.
- Provide high quality of solutions by maintaining the test coverage for the product on acceptable level according to the Definition of Done criteria.
- Be a team player, actively contribute to their group in order to complete tasks, meet goals.
- Learn and develop yourself by performing the thoughtful code reviews for colleagues.
- Product-focused approach, consistently striving to create value for users.
- Proactive attitude and a growth mindset, with a strong orientation towards self-development and continuous learning.
- Over 2 years of commercial experience in backend development using .NET 6+, Entity framework
- Solid understanding of the SDLC, along with software design and architecture principles.
- Expertise in API design principles, with a solid understanding of REST, RPC, including security considerations.
- Experience with relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL) and/or NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS is preferred).
- Expertise in writing both unit and integration tests while ensuring that best practices for testing are integrated into every phase of development.
- B2 level proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
- Experience in product or SaaS businesses will be a significant differentiator.
- Proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes, with the ability to create and maintain Helm charts.
- AWS Certification.
Our Interview Process

• Screening call with the Talent Acquisition Specialist (~30 mins)
• Technical interview + Live coding with a Tech Lead (2 hours)
• Competency-based interview with the Talent Acquisition Specialist (90 mins)
• Hiring Manager interview (~60 mins)
