See definition and requirements of remote work for the Oregon Secretary of State’s Office: Remote work with the Secretary of State’s Office SALARY: $5,079 - $7,784 /per month Non-PERS Rate $5,385 - $8,252 /per month PERS Rate WHAT YOU WILL DO: We are recruiting for individuals to join our Elections team. In this role, you will help investigate possible violations of Oregon election laws and rules. This is accomplished in part by, but not limited to : Reviewing investigation requests/complaints alleging possible violations of Oregon election laws/rules Evaluating and determining whether the division should proceed with an investigation Conducting thorough investigations into possible election law violations Recommending Division action and outcome of cases Assessing civil penalties for non-compliance with Oregon election laws/rules Explaining election laws and rules Answering the public’s questions about registering to vote and voting For explicit duties, please request a copy of the position description from HR.SOS@SOS.oregon.gov. Your application must demonstrate education and/or experience in the following: Four years experience doing administrative research that included compiling and evaluating facts to recommend management action, or decide compliance with program guidelines and regulations. Two of the four years must be above the technical support level. Note: college-level course work may substitute for experience on the basis of 45-quarter units per year, up to a maximum of three years. Transcripts must be included with your application if you are using education to qualify. Preference may be given to candidates with elections administration experience. As the most competitive candidate, your application will demonstrate the following requested skills and experience: Experience conducting investigations into alleged misconduct or violations of laws, rules and/or policies. Resiliency – ability to deescalate confrontational conversations. Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of, or the aptitude to quickly obtain an in-depth knowledge of Oregon election laws. Excellent written and verbal communication skills – ability to communicate clearly and concisely to engage with a wide and diverse audience. Strong interpersonal skills – ability to build rapport with others. Organizational skills – ability to plan work and follow up on task assignments while meeting overlapping deadlines in a fast-paced, politically sensitive environment.
