Position Title: Grant Writer
Location: Remote (Based in the United States)
Reports to: Sr. Advancement Director
Status: Full Time, Exempt
Position Summary
Reporting to the Sr. Advancement Director, the Grant Writer will be a key member of the Advancement team, responsible for researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals and reports in support of IllumiNative's mission. This role will collaborate closely with the Advancement team and IllumiNative’s Program departments to develop compelling narratives and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and funders.

Our mission is to build power for Native peoples by amplifying contemporary Native voices, stories, and issues to advance justice, equity, and self-determination. Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: $65,000 - $75,000
Benefits:

Responsibilities and Tasks
- Write high-quality grant proposals, applications, and reports under the direction and in partnership with the Sr. Advancement Director.
- Collaborate with the CEO and President’s Office, Advancement Director, and other departments to create powerful program narratives that can be adapted to varying audiences.
- Manage the grant submission process and maintain accurate records of submissions and outcomes.
- Contribute to fundraising strategies in alignment with IllumiNative’s goals.
- Maintain an organized database of all grant submissions, including dates, outcomes and narrative feedback.
- Collaborate with IllumiNative departments to gather input for projects.
- Participate in cross-functional teams or special projects as assigned.
Desired Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Ability
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- 3-4 years of relevant experience
- Prior grant management experience with a non-profit, government agency or other entity
- Demonstrated commitment to serving the public in a mission-driven organization.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills; strong presentation skills.
- Strategic thinking, able to conceptualize, lead and execute complex projects and effectively convey their impact to various audiences.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines and objectives.
- Strength in collaboration as part of a team to move projects forward in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated success in grant writing.
- Conduct thorough analysis through research and utilize essential details for project development.
- Success in persuasive writing and experience developing complex communications projects.
- Interpret and follow grant application guidelines and requirements meticulously.
