The Role: As the Director of Engineering you will lead a global engineering team dedicated to advancing our product strategy for Collect. This role oversees engineers working on client, customer, and internal innovations, collaborating with product leadership, and other stakeholders to deliver solutions that drive InDebted’s growth, client and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct leadership to engineering managers and engineers, fostering a collaborative, ambitious, and outcome-focused culture.
  • Implement and refine talent strategies to attract, develop, and retain top engineering talent, supporting diversity and inclusion.
  • Partner with our People team to ensure a strong pipeline of diverse, top-tier talent.
  • Oversee the execution of our product strategy, ensuring high-quality, high-velocity delivery across new developments and existing capabilities.
  • Drive an innovative product roadmap in collaboration with Product, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer value.
  • Provide visibility into delivery timelines and engineering investments for stakeholders.
  • Identify, evaluate, and optimise engineering processes for efficiency and scalability, establishing functional and team KPIs to drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Remove roadblocks and drive the team to achieve ambitious delivery goals.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Product, Growth, Operations, to ensure seamless and cohesive customer experiences.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Product and commercial teams to understand customer needs, and assist in serving our largest clients effectively.
  • Manage R&DTI (Research & Development Tax Incentive) reporting with the Head of Product.


Competencies required:
  • Demonstrated experience in scaling high-performance engineering teams, with a track record of leading teams of 20+ across hybrid and remote settings.
  • Strong strategic thinking with a bias for action and the ability to make sound decisions in complex environments.
  • Proficient in event-driven architecture and distributed systems, with a passion for technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Hands-on experience in building and maintaining B2B products, ideally with experience in consumer-facing components as well.
  • Strong focus on delivering customer value while driving measurable business outcomes through efficient product engineering.


Skills & Experience:
  • Extensive experience delivering and managing large-scale, complex initiatives across multiple markets, with the ability to spot emerging issues and preemptively implement solutions.
  • Successful track record of growing and scaling engineering teams (from 5 to 50+), with a focus on progression, performance management, and talent acquisition.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and align diverse teams around shared goals, ensuring transparency and accountability in all initiatives.
