A Sneak Peek of Your Role 🔭

As a QA Analyst, you will play a key role in testing modern veterinary software that serves thousands of users in animal hospitals across the globe.  Those in this role often take ownership of test plan creation and execution, and have the ability to provide feedback on software quality and product development. You will work closely with a small, cross-functional, highly-collaborative team to deliver quality software that solves real problems for our customers.  Our teams have a deep understanding of their domains and work to deliver value with minimal overhead.  We prize excellence, creativity, and accountability and in return provide autonomy and an environment to do your best work.

What You’ll Do 🐱💻

  • Own the QA lifecycle of software projects from scoping to release
  • Design, implement, and execute test plans and test cases for Instinct.Vet’s software products, ensuring functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with your team to understand requirements and ensure quality is built into every stage of the development lifecycle
  • Identify, document, and track bugs and defects using tracking tools, providing clear and actionable feedback to the development team
  • Conduct manual testing as necessary, focusing on critical paths and edge cases to ensure software meets high-quality standards
  • Develop and maintain test plans to support regression, functional, and integration testing
  • Analyze testing outcomes and generate reports to communicate results to stakeholders, recommending process improvements where applicable
  • Research reported customer issues
  • Stay current with QA best practices and tools to continuously enhance the testing process and product quality.

Who You Are 🐱💻

  • Must Haves:
    • Experience testing modern SaaS applications
    • Experience with bug tracking tools such as Jira or equivalent.
    • Familiarity with APIs and tools like Postman for API testing.
    • Ability to think critically and test edge cases, ensuring software works seamlessly in all scenarios
    • Strong analytical skills to identify root causes of defects 
    • Team-first attitude, including a strong desire to collaborate with your teammates and strive for excellence in software delivery
    • Strong communication skills in a remote work environment
    • Commitment to quality driven by empathy for our customers and their patients
    • Detail-oriented and organized in your work
  • Nice-to-Haves:
    • Basic knowledge of programming languages to write and troubleshoot test scripts
    • Working knowledge of SQL for data analysis and database navigation
    • Experience using AWS to build, deploy and troubleshoot applications

Base Compensation range for this role, depending on the level you are hired in at is $90,000 - $130,000
