About the role:
Become a member of the Kong’s Revenue Accounting Team. We are seeking an experienced Manager that will be responsible for supporting the Team’s revenue accounting positions as well as their associated operationalization and automation. The ideal candidate will have experience with SaaS Revenue Recognition under ASC 606 as well as with NetSuite’s Advanced Revenue Management (ARM), be a great communicator with an entrepreneurial mindset who is also excited and energetic about joining a transformative team. We are looking for a hands-on, driven person who is ready to make an impact. This position will report into the Sr. Manager of Revenue Accounting and will be required to foster relationships with multiple departments within the organization.

\n- Manage the Company’s day-to-day revenue accounting operations in accordance with ASC 606; including preparing and reviewing: invoicing batches, monthly revenue journal entries, account reconciliations, AR and collections schedules, and monthly fluctuation analysis.
- Maintain ASC 606 revenue subledger, including subscription, professional services and billing subledgers.
- Assist with on-going projects for streamlining, automation and transformation.
- Oversee billing operations and order management to ensure timely, accurate and complete bookings and billing information for accounting and reporting.
- Review and analyze customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
- Review SalesForce opportunities for completeness and accuracy of evidence of contractual terms such as amounts, start and end dates, special terms, others
- Partner with the Sales and Sales Operations teams and the executives in those teams to drive bookings and revenues that reflect company objectives while complying with internal policies and with GAAP
- Conduct periodic reviews and assessments of revenue recognition processes and controls, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Drive continuous system enhancements with Sales Operations, Product and Technical Operations as it relates to all orders to cash processes to improve efficiencies and ensure scalability.
- Support external audits and reviews by providing documentation and explanations related to revenue recognition processes and transactions.
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and support for general financial operations as needed to support business and any other special projects.

- 7+ years related experience in Revenue / Accounting
- Experience with high-growth SaaS/Technology industry
- Experience with ASC 606 revenue accounting guidance
- Experience with NetSuite and NetSuite’s Advanced Revenue Management module
- Experience with SalesForce
- 1+ years in People Leadership / Managerial role
- Degree in Accounting/Finance
- CPA with Big 4 experience preferred
- A highly productive self-starter with very strong work ethic
- Strong accountability and detail oriented; prepares accurate and timely work product
- Ability to work independently and thrive, and be a team player
- Ability to effectively operate in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt to change
- Strong interpersonal, communication and messaging skills
- Ability to adapt to the rapid business and organizational changes that accompany a high-growth environment
- Capable of moving between a variety of roles with ease with working with cross functional teams
- Understanding of global quote-to-cash business processes and best practices
- Advanced skills in Excel or equivalent
Kong has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to specific candidate location, role, skill set and level of experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards including sales incentives depending on the terms of the applicable plan and role. Benefits may vary depending on location. US based employees are typically offered access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short and long term disability benefits, basic life and AD&D insurance, among others. The typical base pay range for this role in the US is $120,000 - 140,000.
