As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for building new features and tooling for Insomnia. The incredibly powerful open source API client, and by doing so improving productivity for millions of developers. This position is available to remote workers and at Kong Headquarters in San Francisco.

\n- Work with product managers, engineers and product designers to create meaningful product experiences.
- Build new features and improve upon existing ones.
- Collaborate with other engineers and technical leaders to discover the best solutions.
- Engage with the Insomnia open source community.

- At least 4 years of Go experience writing scalable, production-ready software.
- Strong proficiency for testing and an absolute distaste for unscalable code.
- At least 4 years of experience working with relational databases like PostgreSQL.
- At least 2 years of experience working with cloud infrastructure (like AWS, Azure or GCP).
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and transports (HTTP, GraphQL, TCP, WebSockets, SSE).
- The ability to validate your work with qualitative or quantitative data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Kong has different base pay ranges for different work locations globally, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to specific candidate location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards including sales incentives depending on the terms of the applicable plan and role. Benefits may vary depending on location. US-based employees are typically offered access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short and long-term disability benefits, and basic life and AD&D insurance, among others. The typical base pay range for this role in USD. USD 152,000 - 175,460.
