Our client, The Landbanking Group (TLG), is a fast-growing tech company headquartered in Germany. Their products and services help turn landowners into sellers of sustainable ecosystem services, allowing them to develop and monetise widespread sustainable land management practices.
TLG integrates various geospatial data sources and leverages cutting-edge machine learning models for satellite imaging, carbon footprint and biodiversity analysis. Metagenomics, open supply chain, and other relevant data enables them to develop digital twins of land plots, assess ecosystem quality, verify proof of impact and tokenize the claims so that they can be traded or bundled into tradable assets.
TLG is now looking for a passionate DevOps or Systems Engineer to join their ambitious, cross-functional teams and help build a global-level technology platform. As a DevOps, you will be responsible for building, operating and monitoring our cloud IT infrastructure as well as providing a world-class developer experience to our engineering and data teams.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure primarily on AWS, with some components on GCP.
- Work with the development team to address any scaling issues in the backend (built on Django) and our PostgreSQL database, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
- Automate deployments, configurations, and scaling processes using Terraform.
- Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve performance issues.
- Enhance the developer experience by optimizing CI/CD pipelines and streamlining workflows.
- Work independently to identify and implement improvements to the infrastructure and processes.
- Collaborate with engineering and data teams to ensure infrastructure supports product and research needs.

What You'll Need To Be Successful
- 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, SRE, or in a similar role, managing cloud-based infrastructure at scale.
- Deep expertise in AWS (experience with GCP is a plus).
- Experience with administering cloud infrastructure at scale, ideally through some configuration management Terraform.
- Experience with administering relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred).
- Familiarity with SQS, Pub/Sub, and message-driven architectures.
- Knowledge of ML frameworks, libraries, data structures, data modelling, and software architecture is a plus
- Sound knowledge of UNIX and TCP/IP network fundamentals
- Solid experience with concepts such as monitoring, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, containers (Docker & Kubernetes) and related tools.
- Fluent in at least one of the major web programming language as well as common engineering tools like Git, Jira.
- Ability to debug and optimize code.
- Automation comes naturally to you and is your first instinct.

- Good communication skills in English (German is a plus).
