Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial operations of the organization, with a focus on payroll, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR). The ideal candidate will have extensive experience and a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. This is a 6 month contract to hire and is fully remote EST or CST hours.
\n- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with nonprofit accounting standards.
- Payroll Management: Oversee the payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payroll disbursements, compliance with relevant regulations, and proper documentation.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage AP/AR functions, including processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely collection of receivables and payment of liabilities.
- Budgeting: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, providing variance analysis and financial forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
- Grant Accounting: Monitor and report on restricted funds and grant expenditures to ensure compliance with donor requirements and grant agreements.
- Audit Support: Coordinate and prepare documentation for annual audits, ensuring timely completion and compliance with audit requirements.
- Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- General Ledger: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and properly classified.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the finance function.
$30 - $36 an hour
