Seed has already redefined what’s possible in DTC e-commerce, and now you will set a new standard for how probiotics are sold in retail and retail.coms.  For years, we have focused our growth efforts on subscription only, and a launch in retail means we will need to upgrade our business iOS to welcome one-time purchases and physical marketing.  We have a strong retail case study, and now it’s time to scale.  You will own the P&L and every performance KPI, so you will be our architect, navigator, and lead carpenter for this major new-to-Seed sales channel.  Within the retail ecosystem, we are focused on US mass retail, national drug chains, and natural grocery—think: Target, Walmart, Costco, CVS, Walgreens, Whole Foods, Sprouts, etc.

You’ll report to our VP of New Channels and you’ll have two great broker partners with great reputations in VMS categories as your support on day 1.

Responsibilities:

  • Own P&L and maximize incremental net revenue for Seed via the US retail ecosystem
  • Build a business plan that encompasses SKU assortment, packaging, pricing, promotions, marketing, digital product, supply chain, and data analytics
  • Develop strong relationships with retail buyers, distributors, and our broker partners, so we are not “just another vendor” on their book of business
  • Influence planograms, off-shelf merchandising, and marketing campaigns that grow our brand and grow the category, especially through novel evolutions of shopper experience
  • Provide detailed revenue forecasting, demand planning, and distribution mapping
  • Set and track core performance KPIs—including sales, inventory, and promotional spend
  • Propose and plan for product launches
  • Provide relevant competitive and industry intelligence to the rest of the internal team
  • Refine roles and responsibilities across our team (and our external agency) as the channel grows, aiding with hiring as needed

You:

  • 5+ years of experience selling to Target, Whole Foods, Sprouts, and/or CVS
  • 8-10 years of experience in CPG, preferably health or beauty products
  • A strong understanding of contributors to sales velocity
  • Proficient in negotiating contracts, pricing agreements, and promotional programs
  • Proficient in retail data and analytics tools, including Excel and Tableau
  • Ideally, familiar with retailer media platforms
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate across all departments
  • Flawless attention to detail in planning and execution of all assigned tasks
  • Experience leading large, complex, and first-of-their-kind projects end to end, from strategy to launch to scale
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, including the perseverance to push heavy boulders uphill (metaphorically, of course)

The annual pay range for this full-time position is $160-$190 + equity + benefits across all US locations (this position is 100% remote-US). Our pay ranges are guided by discipline, level and experience required. Within the range, individual pay may vary based on additional factors, including: your specific location, desired skills/ technical competency, relevant experience and advanced education/ training.
